It is a truly green product as Joubert Okoume Marine Plywood panels are FSC certified accordingly with available credits.

The forestry certification standard of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is the most widely known standard internationally and considered as the strictest. The standard is based on performance and an accurate evaluation of the improvement in forest management practices. By granting this certificate, the international organisation is affirming this responsible approach by the manufacturer. The FSC’s strict standard is thus a testament to the traceability of Joubert products manufactured from wood obtained by means of forestry practices that comply with the standards, whilst aiming to protect biodiversity and the interests of local communities and for viable economic development.

The FSC upholds 10 exacting principles of forest management and 57 criteria which deal with different issues that touch upon forest management, respect for local communities, the rights of Nations and workers’ rights as well as environmental impact. The FSC standards monitor forestry operations and ensure that land is worked in a spirit of regeneration.

Joubert Okoume Marine Plywood panels are also E1 classified for formaldehyde emissions which comply with the requirements of Estidama for Material Emissions: Formaldehyde Reduction. They are bonded with phenolic resin. The panels are certified E1 for formaldehyde emissions according to European law and furthermore they are also certified CARB ULEF compliant (California Air Resource Board – Ultra Light Emission of Formaldehyde) for sales to the United States.

The California Air Resource Board is the “clean air agency” in the government of California. The purpose of this airborne toxic control measure is to reduce formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products. The Californian Air Resources Board’s CARB system (which measures airborne emissions rather than the amount of the formaldehyde in the board) is emerging as the standard in the marketplace and it is currently the strictest international standard.

The CARB – ULEF standard corresponding to the standard achieved by JOUBERT sets maximum limits of 0,05 ppm.

Going even further than the standard, Joubert is proud to announce that the results showed 0,01 ppm for its plywood panels (limit of detection). This guarantees you a gluing which can be used in the most extreme outdoor applications such as the boatbuilding industry or extreme weather conditions as it is certified by the Lloyds Register of London as compliant with the internationally renowned British Standard 1088:2003.
